CABIN INFORMATION
KEY: You will be given a code to enter via the lockbox located on the deck. Please return the key to this location upon your departure.
PARKING/CAR: We have a narrow driveway that will fit two cars front to back. There is a third parking space above the driveway that will be marked. During winter months this spot may be covered in excess snow.
ACCESS: In winter we can get snow, the driveway and frontage road can get quite slippery. AWD/4WD is recommended during winter months. We have a service that will shovel the driveway and walk and place icemelt down. But please be very careful as the railroad tie walkway can be slippery when wet or iced over.
DELIVERIES: Amazon, UPS and USPS all deliver to Pine Cone Cabin.
LIGHTS/FANS: The two ceiling fan/lights are powered by remote. The switch will need to be turned on to utilize the remote. There are also candles on sconces and lights in the corner vase, both are powered by remotes which are in the top drawer far left of the bar area.

PRIMARY BATHROOM: The mirror has an anti-fog feature as well as a blue tooth speaker should you choose to use it. Please wipe down the shower doors after use with the provided squeegee.
BLINDS: The window blinds do not have cords and can be closed just by pulling down gently at the bottom. The slider blinds have rods on the stationary ends that operate the blinds in sections as you gently pull it will roll up a section at a time. You should not have to pull hard on these rods.
FOOD/GARBAGE: Garbage cans are locked in the garage to help reduce bear activity. Should you have excess garbage please leave it in a tied garbage bag in the laundry room upon your departure.
WIFI: Look for Pine Cone Cabin. Super secret password is 7166pinecone. We do not have cell coverage at the cabin, but as soon as you connect to the WIFI you can go into your phone settings and “allow” WIFI calling so you will be able to make and receive phone calls. If the power goes out (which happens quite a bit in California), you will have no service. Enjoy the quiet forest while you can, the power will soon be turned back on.
KITCHEN:
Coffee/Hot Water: There’s a Keurig for coffee/hot chocolate as well as a tea kettle and tea bags for your use.
Oven: The gas oven operation is self-explanatory.
-
Do not use oil to “air fry” in the oven.
-
DO NOT CLEAN THE OVEN. Do not use the self-cleaning or oven cleaner! If something spills, please simply wipe it up. We’ll get to it after you leave.
Stove: Gas flames can get very hot and high. Please be aware that if too high, handles melt or get blisteringly hot. Nonstick pans should only be used with silicon tools.
Dishwasher: You do not need to load this upon your departure, but if you would like to use it during your stay there are pods available under the sink for your use.
Counters: OUR COUNTERS ARE POROUS AND THEY CAN BE RUINED with oil, grease, colored vegetables, fruit, wine or juices and anything with food coloring. They need to be treated very carefully like marble. If something spills, please immediately wipe up. No pizza or anything greasy directly on the counter. Please use dishes and serving trays provided. You will need to use cutting boards to chop or cut. Do not use abrasives on sink or stainless items. Thank you:-)
PANTRY: The pantry items are available for your convenience if you do use something please replace it… or let us know.
TOWELS/LINENS: Please do not place wet towels on furniture, doors or floors. Use the plentiful hooks. Please do NOT use bath towels for the beach. Beach towels are located in the bedroom closet. Once used, please shake out on front deck, then hang on back deck hooks to minimize sand inside home or washer. DO NOT hang towels off railing. There are hooks outside the laundry room to hang wet towels/beach towels.
WASHER/DRYER: They are there for your convenience. You are NOT expected to wash linens for check-out. After use, please leave washer door ajar and soap dispenser pulled out when you leave. Front loaders need to air out. There are washer pods available for your convenience.
FIREPLACE: We do have forced air heat for your comfort. If you would like to use the wood stove PLEASE pull the couch away from it so it does not get damaged from the heat. There is a cord behind the stove that can be plugged in for use of the blower. There is ample firewood below the deck.
HEAT: Very efficient ... the thermostat is located to the right of the bedroom door. Do not recommend turning above 71, as it can get very warm at night otherwise. Highly recommend closing drapes at night to retain heat. Please turn the heat to 60 upon your departure.
CONSERVING UTILITIES: We are in California where there are rolling blackouts and high energy costs. Please try and be respectful to conserve water, electricity and gas when you can.
MUSIC/GAMES: Games are in the bar cabinet drawer, far left middle drawer. We have a bluetooth speaker for your convenience but please keep it at a reasonable volume. You can also play Pandora or Amazon Music via the TV.
TV/FIRESTICK: There is NO cable TV. The TV has an Amazon Firestick.
-
First turn on the TV from remote.
-
Then turn on the Firestick controller.
-
Hit the Home button on the Firestick controller and you can scroll through all the channels available.

My housekeeping staff follow a strict list of to-do’s and if something is overlooked or missing I will send them in to fix it. Everything should be VERY clean, but if something is overlooked please let us make it right!
MISSING ITEMS & INVENTORY: Please refrain from removing anything from the cabin. Thank you!
